FOUNDATION PURPOSE

Conduct research in order to propose policies for sustainable tourism and environmental preservation for the public and private sector.
Set up and conduct a learning center for sustainable tourism, acting as the hub for tourism big data and information center for sustainable tourism.
Create, cooperate, consult and support public, private, associations and local sectors in order to create development plans for sustainable tourism, including managing the environment, natural resources and biodiversity.
Create activities to bolster the capabilities of the public, private, local sectors (and anyone interested) in developing sustainable tourism, environment and conserving natural resources.
Develop activities to raise funds for sustainable tourism, environment, education projects in order to create implementation plans for sustainable tourism, development of genius city, education programs, adaptations to changing climates and research toward developing countrywide policies
Set up a fund for sustainable tourism to support public, private, associations and local sectors with projects that are selected by the Sustainable Tourism Development Foundation to proceed with
To endorse and support tourism businesses that are focused on sustainable tourism, especially in the fields of alternative energy, energy use reduction, waste management, and carbon footprint reduction targets.
Distribute and communicate findings from the information hub and other information regarding sustainable tourism to the public.
The Sustainable Tourism Development Foundation is dedicated to supporting charities and conducting charitable works for the public good.
The Sustainable Tourism Development Foundation is strictly not involved in politics.

STDF’s work extends from Phuket and the Andaman region to other destinations across Thailand, promoting innovative models such as the Green Hotel Plus Program, Phuket Old Town Carbon Neutrality 2030, and Food Before Waste.
